President Parmelin to attend EPC summit in Ireland
Berna, 06.11.2026 — On Thursday 12 November, President Guy Parmelin will attend the ninth summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Dublin. He will also represent Switzerland as host of the tenth EPC summit, which will be held in Zurich in April 2027.
The Dublin summit is being held under the theme ‘Europe – strong, secure and connected’. Mr Parmelin will take part in a discussion on strengthening European competitiveness through innovation, connectivity and energy security. He will also use the summit for bilateral talks. Participating heads of state and government will attend a dinner hosted by the Irish Taoiseach, Micheál Martin.
The EPC aims to foster political dialogue and cooperation on key issues of common interest and to promote security, stability and prosperity across Europe. Since the format was launched in Prague in October 2022, the summits have alternated between EU and non-EU host countries.
The tenth EPC summit will take place in April 2027 at The Circle convention centre in Zurich. By hosting the summit, Switzerland will contribute to strengthening security, stability and prosperity in Europe as a whole. The event will also underscore Switzerland's reputation as a stable, reliable and outward-looking country capable of bringing together Europe's leading decision-makers.
