Switzerland launches second call for proposals for reconstruction projects in Ukraine in cooperation with Swiss companies

Bern, 12.01.2026 — On 9 January, SECO published the second call for proposals to mobilise reconstruction projects in Ukraine in cooperation with Swiss companies. The federal government is contributing up to CHF 150 million towards such projects.

The call for proposals invites Swiss companies operating in Ukraine to submit project proposals that respond to Ukraine's key needs. Due to Ukraine's considerable needs, the focus is on strengthening public infrastructure. The individual amounts available range from CHF 3 million to CHF 30 million. A committee consisting of representatives from the Swiss and Ukrainian authorities will decide which project proposals to support based on an evaluation. In a first step, the submitted project ideas will be evaluated based on predefined selection criteria. The selected companies will then have the opportunity to submit a fully developed project proposal. Interviews will be conducted to clarify any outstanding questions.

The call for proposals is open until 8 March. Detailed information can be found on the website: Call for Proposals for Swiss Companies in Ukraine

Experience from the first call for proposals

The second call for proposals for Swiss companies builds on the positive experiences from the first call, which was successfully carried out in 2025 and met with a great deal of interest: around 60 Swiss companies submitted a total of almost 80 project proposals. The federal government is providing a total of CHF 93 million towards the twelve best-rated projects. Funding is being provided towards projects in the areas of infrastructure (energy and housing), public transport, health and humanitarian demining. The selected projects are currently in progress.

Country programme for Ukraine 2025–2028

In its country programme for Ukraine 2025–2028, Switzerland has provided more than CHF 1.5 billion to finance reconstruction, reforms and sustainable development projects. CHF 500 million is available for financing Swiss private sector projects. This will be used to finance the new reconstruction projects.
